The story of a photographer
Hello, my name is Tara Ashley and I have enjoyed capturing memories for years. I think my obsession with pictures started out when I was 13. I lost my uncle suddenly and I watched my family scrounge for pictures for his memorial. Here was someone that meant so much to all of us and we did not have any "good" photos of him to remember him by. So, I started taking pictures of everyone and everything. I found so much beauty in the world when I stopped and started appreciating everything.
I am a mom of two amazing kids and I wanted to document everything. The ballgames, dance classes, cub scouts and school friends. The number of pictures I have is probably embarrassing! In 2012 I created "Shugga Bugga Photography" with the goal of just focusing on infants and children. A silly name geared towards just that. Once I started my website and was able to get my photos out for the world to see customers were asking me to step out of my comfort zone and try family pictures and prom photos. From there I started building my portfolio with maternity shoots and weddings. I was up for every challenge and learned so much by doing so. It has been an amazing journey in which I have found a huge part of myself in the process. After a few years I decided that my business needed to mature as I had and it became Tara Ashley Photography. Both watermarks can be seen on some of my pictures, but both are me.
In 2019 I became a single mom and realized how empowering that whole process is. It has become a mission of mine to make women feel beautiful and sexy. To let them see the beauty that I see and to empower them. All too often women put each other down when we should be adjusting each other's crowns and taking their hand. In 2020 I started taking on boudoir photography and I am currently building my portfolio to share with the world.
I love taking pictures and meeting new people, but I love seeing how happy my clients are when they see their pictures in the end.
